Semantic and Autonomic Workflow Engine
SAWE (Semantic and Autonomic Workflow Engine) is a workflow enactment system
compliant with the
WfMC abstract reference model. The main objective of SAWE
is to deliver advanced services for creating, managing and enacting workflow
processes (described in
XPDL,
BPEL and in future also
GWorkflowDL), in
business, engineering and scientific domains. These services enable:
- automatic composition of abstract and concrete workflows from services described in OWL-S;
- dynamic binding of resources for task execution through semantic matchmaking of resource descriptions both for functional and non-functional aspects;
- programmable monitoring for handling exceptional events during workflow execution;
- workflow autonomic adaptation to react to exceptional or programmed events.
