Managing EndToEnd OpeRations
The Managing EndToEnd OpeRations project is a collection of Java programs for constructing and executing workflows. METEOR began in 1994 and now continues as METEOR-S [verma03] a project on semantic web services. These projects were used to create IntelliGEN [kochut03], a bioinformatics workflow systems that coordinated a number of web services. METEOR was also used to build an information management system for Genome Databases [hall03]. METEOR has also been used in several projects for business workflows and to illustrate quality of service issues in [cardoso02] and [cardoso03].
Main fields of interest in METEOR-S are:
- semantic annotation and publicaton of Web services
- abstract process composition (semantic-based composer advisor)
- semantic discovery of Web services (ontologiy set based on RosettaNet proposition)
- orchestration and compostion of Web services (based on constraint-driven decision engine)
The latest version of METEOR-S software is supporting
BPEL4WS process language. There is also a substantial effort in Quality of Service research.
