GridAnt is an extension of the Apache Ant build tool residing in the Globus COG kit. GridAnt was begun as
GSFL: Grid Service Flow Language in 2001. GridAnt allows for the construction of client side workflow for
Globus Toolkit 3 applications. It allows for the specification of precondition and parallel
tasks in much the same way as the Ant build tool.
Regarding control flow GridAnt allows to construct simple sequential and parallel executions and to express dependencies between various workflow steps (
targets). Therefore its underlaying workflow language may be described as similar to
DAGs.
| Language | Formalism | Flow element | Single-task executor |
|---|
| Ant-like makefile | DAG | OGSI Grid service | Globus Toolkit 3 |
