        <s:content>1 Research Field &quot;Integration and Interoperability&quot;&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;When interfacing the workflow services with external applications a fully interoperable solution keeps applications completely autonomous and exchanges the minimum amount of data. This requires information integration, which handles the context, ontology, and interpretation of data. Methodologies for the integration and the interoperability of data and applications make possible the reuse of legacy systems, allowing to preserve past investments.
